Singer, songwriter, born in Cosenza, graduated in Singing at the Conservatory "S. Giacomantonio" of Cosenza.Lecturer in Modern Singing for appointment of the Director of the Conservatory of Vibo Valentia, in the "Polisa",International Polytechnic University of Vibo Valentia. She debuted as a vocalist of the Group Atmosphera on RAI 2 programme DOC directed by Renzo Arbore conducted by Gege Telesforo and Monica Nannini , performing new pop / jazz songs alternating his performances to those of Joe Cocker.
She had a duet with Claudio Baglioni in numerous concerts of the singer, from Milan to Lampedusa. With Rosa Martirano Quartet she sang in various jazz festivals (Roccella Jazz, Terni in Jazz and others) released a self-titled CD arranged by the pianist Peter Cusato and collaborated with various Italian and international jazz musicians, among them the most prestigious Paolo Damiani and Toots Thielemans.
She collaborated with Maestro Sandro Meo performing at various concerts with the Philharmonia Orchestra Mediterranea. She collaborated with the singer and songwriter Cataldo Perri singing in "Bastimenti”. Among the musicians: Mario Arcari, Armando Corsi, Beppe Quirici, and again with the Philharmonia Orchestra for the Mediterranean theater director Daniel Abbado. She has several records to her credit, including "Live in studio" with the brazilian guitarist Roberto Taufic with whom she has performed in many concerts.
In duo with the great cellist Paolo Damiani, she implemented a project which offers live tracks from Damiani, Mingus, but also the Beatles, Fossati, Battiato. A meeting of two artistic personalities that builds affinity through the elegance, sophistication and generosity in creating a space in which each of them can perform in favor of the other.
In her new album "La curpa è di l’amuri", of which she is the author and composer, the artist uses the Calabrian dialect demonstrating the great musicality of a language that goes well on a new musical sound.
In the record, illustrious collaborations with musicians such as Paolo Damiani and Maurizio Morante, (author of Mina). The arrangements sometimes in quartet , sometimes orchestral are Roberto Musolino's valuable ones.
The scents,those rough of Calabria,blend wonderfully from Arabic influences into a jazz and classical Mediterranean for a songwriting full of contamination.
She
collaborates with Maestro Vincenzo Cipriani and the actor Paolo Mauro with
whom she performed together with the" Orfeo Stillo Strings Orchestra"
playing
their own songs, M °Cipriani' s ones and some unreleased tracks of Battisti, Dalla, The Beatles and others, in a show devoted to music
and poetry inspired by love, named "Lucente come una lama ...bello come il peccato...violento come la passione...l'amore in tutte le tonalità"
She performs along with "Walter Martino Quartet" with "Tribute to Bruno Martino" interpreting the splendid repertoire of this great and unforgettable artist. Exceptional musicians on stage: Stefano Sabatini on piano, Marco Siniscalco on bass, Paolo Innarella on flute and sax, and Walter Martino, Bruno's son, on drums.
Currently Rosa Martirano is involved in live and in the writing of two other unpublished musical projects which will be released in 2015.
